Siding Brands - Choosing good siding
Below is a list of our featured siding brands
Craneboard
Craneboard Solidcore is the first wide panel, insulated siding with "no give". Craneboard is a unique product in the industry designed to appeal to homeowners that want a stiff strong solid backed vinyl siding that doesn't have the give associated with vinyl siding.
Alside Centerlock
Alside Centerlock is a favorite product of many of our installers and home owners. In recent years it has been featured as Sears "best". It features very tight seams because of its' patented unique interlocking system.
Alside Prodigy
Alside's newest offering is a very thick foam backed panel with a double 6 inch profile. Insulation may substantially reduce energy consumption in any climate. Prodigy has the thickest insulation of any solid backed vinyl I have seen. It has an R 5.0 rating!
Royal Building products
Royal products have a reputation for performing very well under cold conditions. Royal vinyl products must pass the same tests as American products, but where our product impact tests are done at room temperature, theirs are done at freezing. Their impact tests exceed the ASTM standard and are an excellent choice for cold areas.
Alcoa Grand Sierra
Alcoa is one of the oldest siding manufacturers in America. Alcoa has a long history of building quality aluminum siding and manufactures a wide range of vinyl sidings. Grand Sierra is a nice product line with impressive specifications. It is a 46 mil nominal thickness, hurricane rated (190 mph), features a strong double strength nail hem, and a 3/4 inch profile height.
Certainteed Monogram
They were the first company I know of to make a true hurricane rated panel with a double strength nail hem. In many ways their design changed the industry. Monogram often rates #1 in Consumer Reports. Their color choices are superb. The grain pattern is molded off of real cedar and is not drawn by an "artist".
Nailite's No Maintenance Shakes
Nailite is the oldest most experienced manufacturer of shakes and while many companies would release a pattern and then quickly withdraw it because of problems, Nailite has just been rock solid. As their product is made of polypropylene, it is paintable if someone chose to do so.
Mastic Quest 3
Alcoa is one of the oldest siding manufacturers in America. Mastic is another company under the Alcoa "umbrella." The top product under the Mastic name is the Quest 3 line.Mastic has a long history of building quality siding and invented the original "T" lock installation lock that has become an industry standard.
